Quote of the month

"China's democracy is a democracy guaranteed by the people's democratic dictatorship."
Beijing in a white paper issued last week, reiterating its Orwellian definition of democracy

Hail mighty Infosys!!

I simply loved Infosys Bangalore campus!

They have marvellous buildings, dormitories to stay overnight, Domino's Pizza, Cafe Cofee day, Indigo nation, book stall, swimming pool, mini golf course, snooker/pool, tennis court, Badminton court, two superb multi speciality gyms, jacuzzi, four big food courts(Cafeteria), a multi storeyed parking facility, badminton court, bus transport facility etc. I think i surely missed out a lot of things here. I had to remind myself that I was in the office of an IT company not a holiday resort.

I saw a fountain there which i had never seen anywhere else before. The beauty about it was that water was sprayed upwards and not a drop of water was spilled outside. When the fountain is not switched on, the whole place looks like a corridor and you can walk over it.

The buildings are amazing too. There was a building in the shape of a pyramid completely covered with glass with fountains in front, making a person feel that it is actually the shadow of the pyramid. For a while i thought Howard Roark himself must have constructed it. Nothing was in excess nor can i say it was too simple. Except that it was beautiful and can stun any newcomer. They have a big food court shaped in the form of a stadium, another one shaped as a lotus and another one with the amphitheatre in front. They have atleast 10 different caterers, lots of shops, fruit juice stall, couple of restaurants all of them inside the campus. The campus was so big that we had to use a cycle which are kept there, free for anyone to use.

However all these facilities are not free but the cost is very very less compared to what an outsider will have to pay. Like Hot chocolate in Cafe Cofee day will cost Rs 40 outside and here in Infosys it is only Rs 16. Similarly gym+snooker/pool+jacuzzi+Swimming pool etc will cost Rs 300 per month but outside these facilities will cost atleast Rs 2000 per month.

I think Infosys inspite of its low salary at entry level cares for its people and provides really good infrastructure to compensate for all of that.

I have to admit that what Freescale, Intel, Motorola, Hughes, agere etc offers to employees is nothing compared to what Infosys offers.

I salute Mr. Narayana Murthy, Chief Mentor and former CEO of Infosys, for making us all proud to say that "Infosys is an Indian company".
